Cat Island Air to New Bight
This was a
truly scary flight, the aircraft looked poorly maintained
and the flaps didn't work.

the Captain...nice guy....bad airplane.

E110, in real bad shape. At least we were on time. I'd have
preferred waiting for the flaps to be fixed tho.

First sight of Island Time
(Well,
actually I took this the next morning. But it is the first of
many pics of this lovely boat I took.) Who says there is no such
thing as love at first sight!

Our neighbor at Hawks Nest.....I truly don't believe I would have swapped
boats. Their dinghy was 27', bigger than my boat! (I guess
it stops being a dinghy at that point since it has a dinghy of it's
own. :-)

Hawks Nest Marina Beach....nuch nicer than I expected!

Marina Entrance. It was a little scary watching those waves and
knowing we had to go through there.

More near the Marina, it was a nice place with it's own runway.

Kristi again...every so often a wave came out of nowhere and washed
over this rock.

Teeny crab...I think he was the size of a quarter.

Saw the green flash this time and never saw it again. I didn't
even try for a pic of it.

Dinghy...The water
here
was so clear.....the moonlight the night before showed ripples on the
bottom as clear as day.

Island Time view from the bow

View headed
out through the reef. This was the first of a few lessons from
Jeff on how to "read the water" and avoid uncharted rocks and coral and
so on. In this amazingly clear water, it was pretty easy.
In the Exumas when we got caught in bad light it was another story.

The water
color was so amazing...it looked fake.

Stella Maris
Marina is over there somewhere, but it was hard to see. We were
headed south now to Deals beach, where my property is. It was
about 14.5 mi from where we anchored.

Pulling into Harvey's Bay/Deals Beach. There is some coral around this to
snorkwl I think.
2/1/2004 1:26:08 PM

Trying to spot my property...I also never got tired of looking at this
water.
2/1/2004 1:26:14 PM
|

Headed right for it...we actually had been a touch off-course, but we
found it when we figured it out.
2/1/2004 1:26:22 PM
|

Getting closer...it helped that I brought all the pics from my first
visit to show Kristi.
2/1/2004 1:26:42 PM
|

another view of the point.....there are a few little caves and undercuts and so
on
that will be fun to explore.
2/1/2004 1:27:04 PM
|

Almost there....my
property pretty much stretches from about 15' to the left
of the cabana to just right of the small cottage you see on the left.
Look at that water!
